Hey,
Since our last sketch clue, pictures of Bog Creeps, or “murder cats” as Gloria calls them, have been making their way to my inbox. We’ve got some nice specimens—or, more accurately, some scary, ferocious, and hateful specimens. But I’d like a few more, so how about it?
Here are reasons to join us.
Drawing your own version of this despicable monster will activate your imagination and help you see scenes in Casey Grimes.
You’ll get to compare your own sketch to the other drawings—including mine.
I’ll probably comment on your artwork.
Thousands of people will see it.
It’s fun.
Use the sketch clue below to make your art using any medium you want. Then send it my way. And feel free to share the challenge with other artists you know. We’ll be posting all the Bog Creep editions soon.
In other news, as Jake McGusty would say, I did an interview.
Actually, Jake would probably say, “In other news, there’s been a War Hog sighting near Deep Down, kids, but remember, we can’t all go chasing it at once. You know what those tusks can do to your intestines, especially if you corner a hog underground in a tight tunnel in the dark. So grab a spear with a long handle and take turns!”
Unfortunately there haven’t been any War Hog sightings. I did see a Belted Kingfisher yesterday when I was walking back to the parking lot after playing pickleball. And I did an interview.
I’ve done author interviews in the past, and this one was cool because it was a picture interview. Yeah, there are words, of course, but big chunks of the interview take place in pictures. How does that even work? There’s only one way to find out. Another cool thing about this interview was, thanks to Michelle at Library Binding, we got to some details about Casey Grimes and my writing that have never been uncovered before. Check it out:
