Good talk about loving reading. I'll have to ask you about that Christmas Eve when you were six. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this one (but I always do).

Your imagination is amazing - it gets mine going and fully involved while I’m reading

I also stayed up way too late reading as a kid. And I'd forgotten that I used to read shorter books while I was still at the library! The Hobbit never resonated with me (I did make myself finish it the 3rd time I started it) even though I love LOTR. I still love reading and do it every single day, every moment I can.

As a kid I had to be tricky in order to stay up late reading - the usual flashlight stuff with my ears open for feet heading toward my room. LOTR is great, and way more demanding than the Hobbit, so I bet Tolkien would forgive you for your cool attitude toward the kids’ book. :)

Hi, I really liked the post. I love reading, I read when I wake up until I have to go to school, I read at school, I read when I get home and I also read before bed. I would really like a second post about the second rule, and hopefully it’s not for paid subscription yet. I do have a question, how do you get someone to publish your book? Like what are the steps?

Hi Kaiya! All that reading will help your writing for sure. The getting published question is a complicated one, so much so that I’ll write a full post on it in the future. The short answer, which doesn’t explain much, is that you persuade a bunch of people to do a lot of work for you…agents, editors, printers, etc…or you do it yourself.
